‘XOXO’: Title of the new album
Earlier today (October 14), Somi’s music agency, The Black Label, officially revealed that the young K-pop idol is in plans to make a comeback with her debut full-length album titled XOXO. Further, the agency unveiled that the new album, XOXO, premieres towards the end of this month. However, Jeon Somi’s music label kept everyone in the dark without revealing any details about the notion of the impending album. Guess we need to wait until the album premieres!
Jeon Somi: Career overview
Jeon Somi debuted as a member of the Produce 101 competition series’ project group I.O.I in 2016. However, I.O.I group activities soon came to an end. Following their band’s split, Somi debuted as a soloist in 2019 under The Black Label. Since then she produced some of the best singles a few of which topped several music charts.
Previous works
The 20-year-old Jeon Somi released her previous single back in August. Titled as DUMB DUMB, the song went viral across social media with the invention of the DUMB DUMB challenge. The singer’s fans all over the globe took up the challenge. In fact, many celebrities and YouTubers also teamed up with Somi to do the fun challenge.
The DUMB DUMB song itself reportedly topped the iTunes Worldwide Song Charts in about nine countries shortly after it premiered. Another big achievement for Jeon Somi is that back then, her DUMB DUMB song video capped 10 million views in just a day after its debut. Before “DUMB DUMB, Somi released a single titled as What You Waiting For in 2020.
