After cancellation of the series of The Expanse by Syfy, Amazon Prime Video adopted and released Season 4 with Season 5 on the way to be released soon this year.

The Expanse is a television series of America based on the novel of the same name by James S.A. Corey. It is a science fiction drama created by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. The series was originally released on December 14, 2015, on Syfy. Till present, the series consists of four seasons with 46 episodes. The series was renewed for a fifth season by Amazon on July 27, 2019. The series is expected to release in December 2019 or early 2020.
No official date for the release of the second season has been announced yet. Filming for the same began in October 2019 and wrapped in February 2020. James shared a tweet on February 13, 2020, that they are wrapping up shooting season 5 of The Expanse. Cast members have also had a wrap-up party.

Season 5 is primarily based on the fifth installment of the novel series, Nemesis Games. It is expected that Season 5 will mainly explore the past personal relationships of the central casts with Alex visiting his wife on Mars, Amos heading back to Earth, and Naomi’s past coming back to haunt her.
