Grey’s Anatomy is returning with Season 17 which will be the final chapter in the longest running iconic medical drama.
The show was first premiered on March 27, 2005, on the American Broadcasting Company – ABC) and went onto become a huge hit right from the go. The series circled around the lives of surgical interns as they develop into doctors while trying to maintain personal lives and relationships. The title is taken from Gray’s Anatomy, a classic human anatomy textbook which was written by Henry Gray. The series revolves around Dr Meredith Grey – played by Ellen Pompeo), first featured as an intern.
On May 10, 2019, Grey’s Anatomy series was renewed for seasons 16 and 17. Ellen Pompeo has extended contact to two more seasons. Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 premiered September 26, 2019.
Release Date
Grey’s Anatomy season 17 is expected to be premiered in September 2020. The series was always aired in September every year since the second season which landed in 2005.

Episodes
The episodes in each season of Grey’s Anatomy are highly unpredictable. That means, how many episodes it’ll consist of varies from season to season. The first season consisted of nine episodes whereas the second season had 27 episodes. Season 17 is expected to have around 24 episodes as that is the most repeated pattern.
