Good Omens is an Amazon prime and BBC two miniseries. It is based on the novel “Good Omens” by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Niel Gaiman wrote a six episode miniseries which was co-produced by Amazon studios and BBC studios. Douglas Mackinnon was the director of the series and Neil Gaiman was the show runner.
Is Good Omens season 2 happening
As of now there is no official news regarding Good Omens season 2. Season 1 of the show told a complete story in itself.
However let’s look at recent comments from the creators of the show to get any hints.
Neil Gaiman told the radio times on the TV adaptation set in 2017, “Terry and I also plotted a sequel to Good Omens that we never did.” He further added that if the people love the plot then he will come back and do more.
Actor Michael Sheen said that he is keen to return to his role and it would depend on if there is another story.
Vernon Sanders who is the Amazon prime co-head said to Deadline that he is very lucky to have an association with Niel Gaiman that is progressing really well. He is also very excited after the success of Good Omens season 1. He is ready to return to the world. However it is Niel Gaiman’s decision, yet Vernon Sanders is ready to do it. It will require some investment but Vernon Sanders is ready to if Niel Gaiman desires.
But previously Niel Gaiman had made it clear that he made the first season as standalone series. He further said that at the end of 6th episode, it is done.
Release date of Good Omens season 2
As Amazon Prime and Niel Gaiman are having good understanding, if season 2 happens then it will be release by the year 2021.
Plot and cast for Good Omens season 2
As the previous season told a complete story in itself, season 2 will have a new story to tell. We may see the regular actors back in their roles and Michael sheen has confirmed that he is ready to return.
Other possible members are David Tennant, Adria Arjona, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Jon Hamm and Frances McDormand as the voice of God.
