The last Jurassic Park franchise movie was Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom, which came out in 2018. Though the movie received mixed reviews, it was able to achieve a box office collection of USD 3.1 billion. And this paved the way for another movie from the franchise.
First Jurassic Park movie director Steven Spielberg has confirmed the return of Collin Trevorrow (director of 2015’s first Jurassic Park reboot movie) for the third or six (depending on from where you are counting) Jurassic Park movie. While the movie would be scripted by a newcomer to the franchise Emily Carmichael.
The conjectured release date of the movie is the 11th of June, 2021. All the earlier movies have released in June and have been significantly successful. And according to the reports, the shooting of the movie is set to begin next year (2020) in spring. However, there were rumors that the shooting had already begun in January 2019 just outside Dublin.
Talking about the cast of the movie, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are to return as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively. Trevorrow has also stated that characters from the Fallen Kingdom will become major characters. Isabella Sermon might also return as Maisie Lockwood and B.D. Wong as Dr. Henry Wu.
“It doesn’t mean he’ll never be back, and I’ve had conversations with almost all of the actors going back to the previous films about how important their legacies are to these movies, and yet also how important it is to continuously change and evolve them into something new,” said Trevorrow.
