The anime had just started airing when the pandemic hit. New measures had to be taken to ensure it got back on track
Food Wars!, otherwise known as Shokugeki no Souma is currently underway with its fifth, and possibly final season with the BLUE tournament arc. The season started airing on April 11, 2020, and followed the regular “one episode a week” pattern, but the lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak was announced after the second episode was released. The wait was long for fans of the show but the studio, J.C. Staff finally announced the date. Read on.

New Changes
Season 5, episode 3 will be airing on July 17, which is again, disappointing news for the fans as it is a long wait ahead. But this can give them time to catch up on other animes or for the ones who had recently been introduced to Food Wars!, they can get up to speed by watching the four seasons released so far.

Season 4 ended on a grand note when the team, led by Totsuki Resort’s head chef Gin Dojima and Saiba Joichiro, along with Soma Yukihira, Erina Nakiri, Megumi Tadakoro, and Takumi Aldini joined forces with some other strong chefs and faced off against Central, an organisation that wanted to bring forth a revolution to the culinary world. It was headed by Erina’s father Azami Nakiri.

After putting up some exciting dishes and wowing the judges, which included Azami, Soma’s rebel team won, and he was put as Seat No. 1 in Totsuki Academy’s Elite 10. Soma brought forward a much needed revolution in the school’s Food Wars challenge, where anybody can challenge an Elite 10 member, and if they were able to beat them, they can take their position.
