When can we see the next part for the prequel of the Harry Potter series?
While Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them had a warm reception and was much loved by the fans, it’s a sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which released in 2018, unfortunately, didn’t have that same impact. The reviews were negative, and the money it racked at the box office was the lowest of the whole series; certainly not what Warner Bros expected when they decided to back up a five-movie deal. So the question that remains is, will this prevent the rest of the movies from getting made?
Part 3, 4 and 5 details
For now, we have nothing to fear as Warner Bros is confident in knowing how to make the third movie a hit, unlike its predecessor. Writer J.K. Rowling has joined in saying that she has an “incredible vision of where she wants to go” with the upcoming movies.
So what can we expect from the next three movies?
We expected part 3 to come out on November 20, 2020, as it seemed that the makers would be following their release pattern of two-year gaps between each movie. But since they are taking extra care not to mess up the third movie, they have set the date to November 12, 2021, and filming will commence in spring 2020. Everyone will be taking their sweet time in prepping for the movie. Even Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros Pictures Group chairman, has explained that all this is so that the filmmakers get plenty of time and space to make sure the next movie will be loved by critics and fans alike.
The release dates of the fourth and fifth parts will be determined after releasing the third part. The tentative dates are given as November 2023 and November 2025.
