Fairy Tail: The 100 Year Quest Anime Announced Through a Teaser!

Natsu and his Fairy Tail guild members are back on the small screen!

Fairy Tail released the first teaser trailer for their next sequel, titled Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. The original manga by Hiro Mashima ended in 2017 after many years, and the anime wound up in 2019. However, fans still wanted more from the shonen series which is all about friendship and magic.

Mashima moved on to his new series Edens Zero, which has its own anime streaming on Netflix, he has not let go of Fairy Tail.

Writing and storyboarding for the new story will be by Mashima, and illustrations will be done by Atsuo Ueda. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest picks up from the ending of the original series, where Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, and the rest of their gang embark on one of their toughest missions yet.

The 100 Years Quest is an unfinished, century-old mission. The mission takes Natsu and his gang to the northern continent of Guiltina. Their objective is to seal the Five Dragon Gods, a group of dragons that can bring about worldwide destruction. Meanwhile, Fairy Tail gets a new member – Touka, who is possessed by a witch who wants the dragons’ powers for herself.

Production Status

The sequel began in 2018, and has numerous volumes currently. But, we have no information on how far the anime is going to adapt, or who the production studio will be. The original season was mainly done by Satellite and A-1 Pictures, with Cloverworks joining in the final season.

Secondly, we have no information if the original cast members will return to voice the characters either. Nor do we have a production date. But now that the series has been announced, all that’s left for the fans will be to wait patiently and see the magic unfold.
