The ensemble cast is enough to get fans excited for Don’t Look Up
Adam McKay’s Netflix movie Don’t Look Up has released its first trailer, and we get a closer look into the satirical science fiction dark comedy. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence star in the lead as two low-level astronomers who happen to discover that a massive comet is hurtling towards Earth, and is capable of wiping out humanity.
The trailer
In Don’t Look Up trailer, we are introduced to Leonardo, who plays Dr. Randall Mindy, and Lawrence, who plays his student Kate Dibiasky. They are the only people who know that the world is about to end. They decide it is up to them to warn the rest of the world so they can take preventive measures to do something about the approaching disaster. They approach the US President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and appear on various morning news segments, and even meet Ariana Grande, but nobody takes them seriously and laughs at their face. They even get arrested by the FBI at one point.
Towards the end, we see the government believing their words, but instead of taking emergency measures, they think of ways to mint money from the comet.
