The Designated Survivor is a political thriller drama. It is one of the most loved and immensely popular drama shows. The series made its first appearance in 2016, on ABC. The series consists of three seasons. The first two were aired by ABC, and the last was released on Netflix.

WILL THERE BE SEASON FOUR OF DESIGNATED SURVIVOR?

Just three weeks after Netflix released the third season of Designated Survivor in June, it was officially announced that series is canceled after three seasons. There will be no season four for the political drama series starring, Kieffer Sutherland.

Let us remind you that, this is the second time the drama gets axed. It was first canceled ABC after two seasons. It had been saved and resuscitated by Netflix for a third season in 2018. Designated Survivor to the dismay of thousands of the fans has been canceled, yet again. The sad news was also confirmed by the Sirius star, Italia Ricci.

Many complained, there was too much sensitive content for foul language and strong sexual situations, but most of all, fans were furious and disappointed that one of the most exciting characters played by Maggie Q, was taken out.

If we go in the details behind cancelation, we discover that the contracts between the authorities are a bit complex. Many of the artists were not signed for next season. Hence, producers have to cancel the next seasons. Although the show was lauded for its thrill and engaging storylines, it was also criticized for its strong language and some explicit content.

Overall, the experience of audiences with the Designated Survivor was good enough to expect a fourth season. Alas! We will have to bid farewell to the show.
