‘The Murmuring’ and ‘The Viewing’ will be arriving soon on Netflix
Veteran filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has presented us with his horror anthology series, titled Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on October 25. Two episodes were released per day, leading up to the end of Halloween, with the filmmaker telling a unique horror story with each episode. We are now awaiting the release of the two final episodes.
New Episodes From Cabinet of Curiosities
The first teaser is for episode 7 of Cabinet of Curiosities, titled, ‘The Murmuring.’ The episode is directed by Jennifer Kent, known for The Babadook and The Nightingale. Kent, who is an expert at telling stories with female protagonists, adds another one to the list. The story is about an orthodontist who is studying the murmuring of birds and the shapes they make while flying in a group. To learn more, she rents a mansion on a deserted island with her husband but soon figures out that there are supernatural elements at play in the mansion. The main theme of the episode is grief, which Kent is good at handling.
The second teaser was for ‘The Viewing,’ directed by Panos Cosmatos, who has directed movies like Beyond Black Rainbow. The story takes place in the ’70s when a group of youngsters is invited by a mysterious billionaire for a drug-infusing viewing. The experience turns out to be more than what any of them hoped to be.
Release Date
Netflix usually follows the binge-watching style, bit for Cabinet of Curiosities, the creators opted for a daily release pattern, something that is not commonly seen. The two final episodes of Cabinet of Curiosities released on October 28, and are now available for streaming.
