The next installment of Beverly Hills Cop is currently in development, with lead star Eddie Murphy returning. The latest news is that Murphy will have two new co-stars and that the movie will be a Netflix original. The new movie will be titled, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, titled after Murphy’s character’s name. Let’s read more details below.

The Beverly Hills Cop Movies So Far

New cast

In the original movies, we saw Murphy as Axel Foley, a cop from Detroit who travels to Beverly Hills, California, to solve the murder of a friend. He realizes that he’s out of his element in this new city, and must think of new ways to get to the bottom of it. The two following movies also saw Foley back in Beverly Hills to solve other crimes.

The fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie’s plot is under wraps, but we already know that the Detroit cop will be asked to come to the West Coast once again. The roles of Gordon-Levitt and Paige are also kept under wraps.

It is understandable that Murphy has a special bond to the movie since it made him an international star. Murphy was already popular in the United States thanks to being a Saturday Night Live cast member, but this movie skyrocketed his career. Due to this, we saw the actor making comedies like Coming to America and the famous stand-up special Eddie Murphy: Raw.
