The Orange men’s basketball team that is the Syracuse have got their two direct wins.
After two wins, the team comes to meet team Virginia Tech for the match. It is the second face-off between both the teams in this season. The match occurs on Saturday noon which is the 18th of January 2020.
The Orange team had lost to the Hokies two weeks prior to this. The game was a close call between both the teams at the Carrier Dome.
The previous winning scores of Syracuse are 10-7 and 3-3 (Atlantic Coast). While for the Hokies are 13-4 and 4-2. However, there have been some predictions if Syracuse would win the match or not. This would have been their third straight win after a start of 0-2.
The Beat Writers predicted a poor outcome for the rematch.
Nick Alvarez said that the Boston College pick was undoubtedly his worst from the season. He said that Virginia Tech has good shooting members. And that can beat the opposition. He added that the Orange team shows a limit in wins over its competitor team in the match. He also said that Jalen Cone disgraced the Syracuse team’s performance with five 3s.
While the other writer, Michael McCleary said that the Hokies dominated the last game played at the Carrier Dome. They frightened the Orange by hitting 3-pointers. But could not continue doing so. He felt hesitant but added that Syracuse is coming after the best win of this season.
The Orange can not easily win from its difficult opponents ahead in NCAA Tournament. But that remains in the thoughts of the players of the team, especially those who have shown recent improvements.
The next comes Josh Schafer. It began with a skeptical remark about Syracuse. They had won the previous 2 games for the first time among all the matches of the year. However, he continued to praise the team for its better performance.
He then again bounced back and remarked that it does not mean that they will win every other match. And the tough matches start with the Hokies itself. It’s not going to be an easy win. The Hokies are known to shoot well and comparably from a larger distance.
Moreover, Virginia Tech will have its home audience. Therefore, it is going to be difficult for Syracuse to pull off well in ACC.
