After Netflix cancels The OA, fans are cancelling their subscriptions!

Ever since Netflix unexpectedly cancelled The OA series in August, many Netflix subscribers are cancelling their accounts this week.

The news of the series shutting down has hit the fans hard, and so they have begun their efforts to save the show.

Despite a fan theory that the cancellation may be a fake, it still appears very real. Now, the fans of the show have adopted the strategy of cancelling their Netflix subscriptions in protest.

Not just The OA, various shows that were axed by Netflix like Daredevil, Luke Cage has united the fans in protest. Fans have started using the hashtag #CancelNetflix to voice out their displeasure.

Meanwhile, the cancellation of The OA comes after a game-changing twist at the end of the second season.

Moreover, the question remains if Netflix will renew the show after the demands from fans. However, in the past, Netflix has brought back shows after protests from fans. For instance, the comedy One Day at a Time got cancelled by the streaming giant. But following fan activity, the series eventually got an extension.

So, is a similar happy ending be in store for The OA? Fans will have to wait and watch as efforts to save it continue to get underway.

The OA is a mystery drama series with elements of science fiction, supernatural and fantasy. The series debuted on Netflix on December 16, 2016. The OA was created and executive produced by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. It is produced by Plan B Entertainment and Anonymous Content. The series is about a young woman named Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling) who resurfaces after having been missing for seven years. 

The series comprises of two seasons of eight episodes each.
