The Big Brother couple Kathryn Dunn and Nick Maccarone have called it quits after less than a year. They had first formed their showmance during season 21 of the CBS reality series . US Weekly reported that , that according to Dunn, trying to maintain a long-distance relationship amid the coronavirus pandemic put too much pressure on their romance .
She also revealed that the two officially split on April 9 after they had an argument on Instagram Live. Dunn told that the whole timing of the quarantine really took a toll. She also adds that she had plans to visit Maccarone before the stay-at-home guidelines were instituted.
Dunn continues to say that fans’ speculattion about their relationship, when she cancelled her travel plans began to take a toll on things.
“The fans started messaging Nick things like, you deserve to find someone who really loves you, and that she was just not it. Fans just got involved in their business, and it started to cause little arguments here and there. Along with the stress of quarantine and everything going on, things got a little shaky. Dunn explained to the US Weekly.
Everything started when, Dunn jokingly made fun of her beau when he joined her Instagram Live earlier this month. Dunn thought he might take the joke in stride, but when the fans too started to say things like she doesn’t really like you and all the other stuff , she thinks that it was maybe just like the straw that broke the camel’s back,” she reasoned.
Maccarone backed out of the Live, and the two went on to argue in the comments. It was very childish, she admits and something that shouldn’t have happened, especially on such a public outlet.
After two weeks of their breakup, Dunn said the two are “on great terms,” still texting, calling and FaceTiming each other regularly. He continues to be one of her best friends, and they still talk pretty much every day. Dunn concluded.
