4 instances from ‘Rick and Morty’ that prove Rick has actually got a heart and his Grand kids are very important to him!

Since the very beginning of the show ‘Rick and Morty’, we have seen that Rick is a total as***le. Yet at times we have seen great developments in the character of Rick Sanchez.

The show ‘Rick and Morty’ is an Adult Swin comedy that follows the adventures or rather misadventures of the drunken nihilistic scientist Rick and his grandson Morty. Rick is shown as a real prick who has a very bad habit of shoving his grandson through portals. Not lot is known about Rick’s past, except for the fact that he had left his wife and children some 14 years ago.

Although viewers understand Rick’s character to be an as***le, there have been sweet instances in the show, which proves Rick’s humanity.

  1. Rick take his grandkids Morty and Summer for ice cream.
In ‘The Ricks Must Be Crazy’ Rick is shown in most of the part as a crazy scientist, yet glimpses of his sweetness could also be found. Firstly, he orders his spaceship to keep Summer safe. And later at the end, he takes his grandkids for ice cream.
  2. Rick shoots King Jellybean for assaulting Morty.
In ‘Meseeks and Destroy,’ Rick takes revenge on King Jellybean for his attempt to rape Morty. He straightaway murders Jellybean, and the best is that he doesn’t let Morty see it. This clearly means what he did was out of goodness and not to gain anything from Morty.
  3. Rick ends the adventure when Morty is attacked.
In the same episode ‘Meseeks and Destroy,’ Rick senses what had happened with Morty by just seeing him. So he ends the adventure for the comfort of his badly shaken grandson.
  4. Rick C-137 cries for Morty.
In ‘Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind’ Trans-Dimensional Council of Ricks kidnaps Rick. When the “Evil Rick” forces him to watch Morty’s footage, Rick C-137 sheds a tear for his grandchild. And he is even scoffed by “Evil Rick” for crying.

These instances clearly show that Rick, not a total prick and his grandkid Morty is his world.
