Book of Boba Fett Finale Review: Was it a Satisfying End?

The series did have an unnaturally high number of haters from the get-go

After an eventful run, we have now reached the finale of The Book of Boba Fett. The series, which brought back Temuera Morrison in the iconic role, consisted of seven episodes. It told the story of Boba trying to become the mob boss of Tatooine, after Jabba the Hutt’s death.

However, the series wasn’t able to capture the same excitement as other Star Wars shows. Let’s take a closer look.

Chapter 7 review

In “Chapter 7: In The Name of Honor,” we finally get to see Boba in action and use his gadgets. This has not happened since he appeared in The Mandalorian over a year ago. We briefly got to see what we had expected to see in the series.

Most fans, even the hardcore ones, felt that the series was not up to the mark. In fact, the two episodes that did not really feature Fett were the best ones. The episodes had a large number of cameos, like Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Din Djarin, the Mandalorian.

This begged the question whether the series was actually necessary. Was the show made just to get to season 3 of The Mandalorian? If so, then they did a massive disservice to one of the best Star Wars characters. But that is not to say that the episode wasn’t bad. In fact, it had an excellent nostalgic moment where Fett was riding the rancor. This moment was first seen in the character’s cartoon form in 1978.

What’s next?

There won’t be any spin-offs based on the Boba Fett characters, as stated by Disney+. However, we are yet to know if the series itself will get a second season. For now, all focus is on Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Then there is Ahsoka with Rosario Dawson, Andor with Diego Luna, and The Mandalorian season 3 with Pedro Pascal.
