Macaulay Culkin is Making a Travel Docuseries on Midlife Crisis

The actor is embracing his 40s in a fun way

Macaulay Culkin is the metric for most adults to check how old they are. The Home Alone star is aware of that very well, and is now developing a new docuseries to showcase his life.

Here’s all you need to know about Macaulay Culkin’s Midlife Crisis.

The viral tweet that started it all

Culkin’s new show comes as a result of a viral tweet he sent out in 2020. The Richie Rich star reminded everyone that they are old by saying that he had turned 40. It got half a million retweets since then and over 70,000 replies, and kicked off the show. In the show, we see Mack embark on a wild and intrepid journey to find out what turning 40 truly means. He will ask questions that anyone who deals with ageing wants to know.

Some of these questions are: How should we embrace getting older in a society obsessed with youth? What is midlife crisis and how do we measure it? Then finally, how do we ensure unbridled passion doesn’t become a relic of our youth?

Culkin’s docuseries is exec-produced by Lightbox co-founders Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn. His manager Emily Gerson Saines is also on board as an executive producer. Saines had previously exec-produced series like Blindspotting and Tokyo Vice.

The Chinns spoke about the show, and how Mack continues to be iconic and loved by the internet as always. They added that despite this status, he remains a normal middle-aged guy with a wide and a new kid. Culkin responded to this by thanking them for reminding that he’s in his 40s.
