In her rant against “cancel culture,” Helena Bonham Carter supports J.K. Rowling and proclaims Johnny Depp “Exonerated”
Helena Bonham Carter is expressing her opinions regarding the alleged cancel culture and contentious public figures like J.K. Rowling and Johnny Depp in a very straightforward fashion.

In a discussion with The Times that was made available online on Saturday, Helena Bonham Carter challenged the idea that someone’s personal life should have any influence on their career. She also questioned whether a genius could be barred from participating in certain sexual activities, and added that there would be millions of people whose personal lives would cause them to be disqualified.
She also asserted that people cannot prohibit one another, that the cancel culture has descended into frenzy, and that there is a lack of understanding.
When questioned if there is a way for such famous people to find atonement, the actress remarked that she doesn’t believe there is for people like Kevin Spacey and Johnny Depp, who certainly witnessed it.
Depp is Vindicated
When asked further about Depp, who has worked with her on numerous occasions, Helena Bonham Carter said she believes the Pirates of the Caribbean actor had been completely proven right in the wake of his elevated trial involving ex-wife Amber Heard. She also stated that she believes he is now completely fine.
Bonham Carter said that his wife joined the #MeToo movement and stated that the issue with these things is that people will hop on the bandwagon because it’s the fashion and to be the main protagonist for it. This was in response to a question about whether Depp receiving $15 million from a Virginia jury in his defamation suit against Heard earlier this year was a hint that the #MeToo pendulum was swinging back.
In movies like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Dark Shadows, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Alice in Wonderland, Depp and Bonham Carter have collaborated.
The actress was also passionate about the blowback that Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has received over comments that have been criticised as transphobic.

The actress was also quite concerned about the backlash that J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, has faced due to comments that have been characterized as transphobic. She described it as horrible and a bunch of bollocks. She claimed that people’s narrow mindedness had reached an extreme.
Everyone has experienced trauma in the past and bases their opinions on that trauma; therefore, it is important to recognise the origins and suffering of others. Helena Bonham Carter went on to say that not everyone had to share the same viewpoints since it would be absurd and uninteresting. She claimed that Rowling simply spoke from her experience and didn’t mean it in a hostile manner.
When questioned about the movie franchise’s celebrities, who have openly denounced Rowling’s remarks, such as Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter said that she sincerely believed they should just let Rowling have her viewpoints while also adding that she chooses to believe they are very conscious of safeguarding their own fandom and generation.
