The actor had already been appearing for The Flash reshoots
Ezra Miller has finally released a statement regarding their actions this past year, which resulted in multiple legal controversies and charges. They have confirmed that they are now seeking treatment.
Let’s read the story below.
Ezra Miller and The Flash’s Difficulties
Ezra Miller got casted as the Scarlet Speedster in 2014 for the DCEU that began with 2013’s Man of Steel. The character made his debut in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and was featured properly in 2017’s Justice League. In between these years, Warner Bros. had been trying to find a crew for The Flash, which was to have Ezra in the lead. It finally found It director Andy Muschietti and wrapped up in late 2021.
Then began troubles regarding Ezra Miller himself. The actor was arrested two times in Hawaii for assault, followed by allegations of grooming. Miller mocked authorities on social media, before going on the run. In the last two weeks, they got charged with felony burglary in Vermont. WB Discovery CEO David Zaslav and the team have considered scrapping The Flash entirely.
The actor has seemingly stopped their erratic behaviour, and their representatives have given a statement to Variety. Miller opened up about going through “a time of intense crisis.” Miller admitted to suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. The 29-year-old star also apologized to everyone they had alarmed and upset with their behaviour. “I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life,” the actor signed off.
We are yet to see if Ezra Miller will continue to have a future in the DCEU, or if their role will be recast. Either way, it is good to see that the actor has come clean.
