The former professional wrestler adds another title to his list of achievements
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has now entered the world of rap, after lending his vocals for a new song by Tech N9ne.
Johnson, who made his debut in the entertainment as a professional wrestler, is now at the very peak of his career, and doesn’t look to back down for even a second. He is now one of the highest-paid stars in Hollywood, and was part of some major blockbusters. But let’s get to his new song.
Tech N9ne’s ‘Face Off’
We know that Johnson is very good at singing, thanks to his song, “You’re Welcome” in Moana. But he is just as good as a rapper, with Tech N9ne’s song, ‘Face Off.’ The song is part of their latest album ASIN9NE.
Johnson revealed the news first on Twitter, when he tweeted, “Pumped (& humbled) to drop MY 1ST RAP SONG with my brothers, the GOAT @TechN9ne @therealkingiso & #joeycool.”
On Instagram, she shared a video of him working out with the song in the background, and captioned it, “Recognize the voice?” The song was filled with adrenaline, and Johnson, along with Tech N9ne were dropping some serious bars.
Johnson had once spoken with Variety, and said that he simply loves music. He had once appeared on his friend Wyclef Jean’s 2000 song ‘It Doesn’t Matter’, but he only shouted his catchphrase and didn’t get to rap. The Rock added that a lot of his friends are hip hop artists, and he was asked by them a few times. He didn’t join as it had to feel right.
One take
Instagram/@therockBut he knew it would work out when he got Tech’s message. He met the rapper years ago on the set of Ballers, and got along really well. Johnson wrote his own verse, and after that, went to the studio with his wife Lauren Hashian and recorded it in one take.
He recalled that he was drinking Teremana, his signature Tequila, and was lit already. He sent the song, and they responded with a “F*** YES!!!”
