Danai Gurira Cast In Shakespeare In The Park As Richard III
Award-winning actress, Danai Gurira will next be seen as Richard III in the upcoming Shakespeare In The Park.
Robert O’Hara has taken the responsibility of directing the upcoming famous play of the 60th anniversary season. Nominated for Tony award, his famous work includes Slave Play.
A titular character, Richard III, for whom Gurira definitely would be a good choice. After her stellar performances in blockbusters like Avengers and Black Panther, Gurira once again set ready to woo her fans with her power-packed performance.
Oskar Eustis who is serving as artistic director on the production said in a statement that in this play Gurira will be her version of this extraordinary character. Eustis famous works include The Rest I Make s Up, The Lost Mummy of Imhotep Film, Strange Left, etc.
Who else joining Shakespeare in the Park
Joel Perez, Darius de Haas and Taub, along with Danai Gurira, returning to their characters originally from the 2017 drama. Shaina Taub took responsibility for music and lyrics.
Story
Richard III follows the story of Richard of Gloucester who wants to become King of England. He will do whatever is necessary to accomplish his goal and nothing will stop him. Even if it involves killing one’s own family to get the crown of the country.
Production Date
The production of the show was planned for 2020 but everything came to a halt due to the pandemic. As of now, we don’t have a production date or schedule for the play, nor who else will be in the cast. Fans have to wait a little more to see Gurira in the character of Richard III as dates are not out yet.
