Since the first episode of Rings of Power, the Stranger has been under debate. He was said to be the Dark Lord Sauron, or so The Dwellers believed. Meanwhile, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), and Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) are on their way to find out this evil that Galadriel has been talking about. Halbrand gets injured during the journey, and Galadriel and the other elves are scrambling to save him. Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) save Halbrand, and in return, he tells them how to save the elves with just a sliver of mithril. He tells them other ideas, which makes Galdriel suspicious, and when she questions him, he reveals his real identity, saying he is Sauron. He has just been wearing her brother’s face.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Vickers said that he wasn’t told about his role until showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay told him before the third episode of Rings of Power.

He said he suspected the role to lead somewhere further due to his lines during the audition. The dialogue he was given was a monologue from Richard III and Paradise Lost. For the most part, he managed to keep the news secret from all cast members except Morfydd Clark, who was his scene partner.

The Rings of Power is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
