Robert Downey Jr. is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. Robert is an American actor as well as a singer born in Manhattan, New York. His mom & dad were actors and he also started acting at a young age.

Early life and Career

Downey was born on 4 April 1965. His mother was also an actress & she wanted her son to be an actor too.

In the beginning, he started his career in acting upon theater roles. His performance in “less than zero ” lead him to bigger movies and co-stars as Chance Are (1989)  with Cybill Shepherd, Air America (1990) with Mel Gibson, and Soapdish (1991) with Sally Field, Kevin Kline, and Whoopi Goldberg.

He starred as Charlie Chaplin In Chaplinin 1992 & he prepared himself like Chaplin. He learned how to play tennis & violin left-handed. He has a personal coach who helped him imitate Chaplin’s posture and way of carrying himself. For this role, he was awarded as the best actor.

Actor’s trouble

Downey was arrested many times from 1996 to 2001 on charges of possessing drugs including heroin cocain& marijuana and he received 3 years of trial. In 1999, he was sentenced to 3 years prison term at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison after missing a court-ordered drug test.

When he was released, he joined a TV show Ally Mcbeal, & he won a Global Globe for his role as Larry Paul. But in 2000 & 2001, he was again arrested for drug possession. As a result, he was fired from the TV show & also lost many film roles.

Robert Downey jr. landed the lifetime role as Tony Stark, the man behind the Iron Man suit. The film would not debut until 2008. But that gave him more time to make the film & rake in reported $10 million for the role.

Net worth

Robert was named Forbes’ World’s highest-paid actor Earning $80million in 2015. Downey was still the highest paid in 2018. He earned $75 million for his role in Avengers: Endgame, which made him one of the highest-paid actors on Forbes’ 2019 list.

Endgame went on to make over worldwide $2.5 billion. Downey’s total loot is estimated at over $200million. Robert is also being paid $20 million for 2020’s Dolittle.
