Netflix’s original series Mindhunter went on for two seasons. Its first season was released in the year 2016 and the second season in the year 2019. The psychological thriller series became popular among the Netflix audience. It is a question amongst fans, is Mindhunter coming back for a third season?
Mindhunter Season 3: Is it coming?
Unfortunately, there are no reports of Mindhunter being renewed for a third season. Director of the series David Fincher has put the series on hold. He has been working on his other projects such as season two of Love, Death and Robots and his new Netflix original movie Mank.
The actors working on the series have also been let loose from their filming contracts. Fincher said that he did not want to restrict the cast from pursuing other work so he let them loose from their contracts. He had previously stated that Mindhunter may continue for five seasons but since Fincher is working on other projects at the moment, the next season may take a lot of time before its production starts.
After Fincher completes his movie Mank and it is released, he might come back to direct the third season and possibly further two more. We can then expect the third season to be dropped in the year 2022 if it is ever picked up.
Mindhunter season 3: Cast and characters
Jonathan Groff had played Holden Ford, Holt McCallany had played Bill Tench, and Anna Torv had played Wendy Carr. These were the three leads of the show but they all have been let loose from their contracts. They might return for season three.
Other cast members include Stacey Roca as Nancy Tench, Joe Tuttle as Greg Smith, Michael Cerveris as Ted Gunn, and the serial killers Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper, Sam Strike as Montie Russell, and Happy Anderson as Jerry Brudos.
