Joker has proved that a superhero movie can be considered serious and meaningful. The movie won two oscars, that are Best actor for Joaquin Phoenix and Best Original Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir. They broke the stereotype that superhero movies are just for fun. We should also consider Christopher Nolan’s piece of art “The dark knight.”
These two movies have now set a high standard in film making for others as well as for themselves. That’s a benchmark set for the Matt Reeves upcomming movie “The Batman.” But it seems that “The Batman” will live up to the expectations when you take a look at what Matt Reeves has in plans for the film. It is possible that it may bring even more academy awards for DC.
First of all, the casting choice is near perfection. Robert Pattinson is chosen as the Batman/Bruce Wayne. He has got the looks and acting skills for playing the character. He has come a long way from the twilight movies and has proved himself as a versatile actor from movies like The Lighthouse, High Life and The King. There is no doubt that he will do his best for playing the dark knight. Paul Dano is chosen for the role of riddler and he has done incredible work in movies like 12 years a slave and there will be blood.
If we take a look at the work done by Matt Reeves we can see that he has the ability to make actors shine their brightest in their roles. “The Batman” could be a slow burn film portraying low level crime. We will be able to see how the penguin and riddler affect the psychology of a orphaned child. We would be able to see the superhero as a human and the emotions he has to go through. If Matt Reeves handles everything well, then “The Batman” will be nothing be gold.
