You will be delighted to know that The Expanse is back for a fifth season after crossing so many hurdles. The science-fiction show will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video. And the confirmation about season 5 was made months before the premiere of season 4. So we do not need to worry about any more issues.
The setting of the show is in the future, at a place where the solar system has been colonized. It follows the crew of Rocinante to reveal a conspiracy that threatened the precarious peace of the galaxy. And humanity survival is also affected. Most probably, season five will be based upon Nemesis Games to Life.
The book is written about an interplanetary land rush. The old power structure is shown collapsing. There’s a rise of new world orders. And amidst all these, Rocinante attempts to get back home. There’s a lot more that will be added to the story but is not revealed yet.
Next, let’s move forward to the cast of the show. The lead role will be played by Steven Strait. His character is of Captain Jim Holden. Cas Anvar will be the pilot of the ship, Alex Kamal. Whereas, Rocinante’s technical crew members played by Dominique Tripper and Wes Chetham are also expected to return.
Thomas Jane, who gained popularity through show Punisher, can be seen as Detective Joe Miller. He is also going to direct one of the episodes. Season 5 may also have Torchwood’s Burn Gorman, who joined the cast in season 4.
Some of the cast members are officially promoted as regular members for the fifth season. The list includes Nadine Nicole ( Casual), Keon Alexander ( Impulse), and Jasai Chase Owens ( The Deuce). Alexander will be seen as Marco Inaros. And the newly appointed secretary-general of the United Nations, Lily Gao’s Nancy, will also be returning.
