The television series Ray Donovan was cancelled after Season 7 finale. Till now no official statement as of it has been released by Liev Schreiber.
Showtime series Ray Donovan called off after season 7
Season 7 premieried on November, 2019 and the season finale of Ray Donovan was aired on 19th January,2020.The network announced on Tuesday that Season 7 was the finale of the series. The network stated that after seven incredible seasons, Ray Donovan has concluded its run on Showtime. They are proud that the series ended amid such strong viewership and on such a powerful note. Their deepest thanks goes to Liev Schreiber Jon Voight, showrunner David Hollander and the entire cast and crew, past and present for their dedicated work.
Schreiber also posted in a Instagram post a couple of weeks back staying that,” What an amazing journey it’s been. I’ve been reading your comments, and the outpouring of life love and support for our cast and crew has been truly overwhelming. I know the big question on everyone’s mind is whether there will be season 8. Truth is it’s in the network hands.So it you want more reach out to them. Either way it’s been an amazing ride and we have all of you to thank for it.”
Reactions of the fans
The fans are furious with the cancellation of the show and have been lashing out in the social media. One tweeted to Showtime stating,”Thanks for shortening Season 7 and then canceling Season 8. You could have at least given us 2 more episodes and ended the show properly! Way to lose customers. Wish I never started watching this show now. Screwing the fans. Good job.”
Another tweeted that,”I don’t often use Twitter but i am furious @showtime! Consider my subscription cancelled if you can’t give at least one more season of @SHO_RayDonovan! This is not the way to end a show.
