After so many years, Kim Kardashian West finally spoke about her emotional breakdown in 2013 during the Met Gala event. She was literally in tears when she was mocked online.
At that time, she was heavily pregnant with her first child. But many made fun of her.
Comedian Robin Williams was among those poking fun at the floral gown child.
He compared the dress to his appearance in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire in 1993. He played the role of a divorced father dresses up as a female housekeeper to stay in touch with his children.
He posted a picture captioning it with, “I think I wore it better!” He died in 2014.
In a recent interview, Kim went through a whole lot of photos from best dressed to worst outfits in past years. In 2013 for the Met Gala event, she wore a floral gown by Givenchy. Her husband, Kanye West, accompanied her. She was poorly trolled on social media, where she was compared to the sofa. She kept on crying while on her way back home. She recalled that phase when she was pregnant and bloated. Since Kanye was performing, she was plus one.
Kim further said designer Riccardo Tisci chose a stretchy fabric to accommodate her pregnancy and convinced her it was initially a black version of the dress. Tisci convinced her to opt for the floral version by saying: “What do you give a woman who is pregnant? You send her flowers.”
And so she got all excited about the dress and wore it for the event. But recalling the comments after that is still painful for Kim.
