King Leopold’s Ghost – Plot
The book is written by Adam Hochschild. The movie goes back to the 1800’s era. It revolves around the lead character King Leopold. The king was cruel and his brutal practices helped him fetch money. These tactics soon made him the richest man in the world.
King Leopold II of Belgium gained the private ownership of the Free State of Congo. He introduced an army that bluntly forced the citizens to grow rubber and collect ivory. It was the time when Europeans countries were craving to exploit the natural resources of Africa.
Leopold aimed to spread Christianity in African countries. The film will emphasize this side of Leopold the most. But the question is why Affleck has chosen this story specifically?
This is because he has been helping the Eastern Congo Initiative for over several years. The movie will showcase the lives of 10 million people of the African continent in front of the world.
This is an initiation, the Academy Award winner is aiming to bring in cinema. The stories which deserve to be confronted with everyone should be the motive of movies. This movie is going to bring tears in the eyes of the viewers.
The screenwriter of the movie will be Farhad Safinia and the producer will be Martin Scorsese. We hope the movie becomes a success and sets a benchmark for other upcoming movies.
