Kid Rock pays tribute to the legendary “Take Me Home Tonight” singer Eddie Money at DTE Energy Music Theatre

The tragic death of our favorite singer Eddie Money on 13th September 2019 left a mark on every fan’s soul. Detroit-area DTE Energy Music Theatre also known as Pine Knob was Money’s second home. During Money’s career, he has given 38 performances in Pine Knob. So, what would be a better place then Pine Knob for giving tribute to this legend? Therefore, Kid Rock gives his tribute to Money in his style at the DTE Energy Music Theatre.

Rock’s Tribute:

Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker band paid tribute to Money at Pine Knob on Friday night. They performed on Money’s 1982’s song “Shakin'” from his album “No Control.” While they were performing, there was a picture of Money’s in the background, with the caption”1949-2019.” Rock finished the song asking the crowd to “to put one hand in the air for Eddie Money. God bless you, Eddie. That’s how Rock and his Band gave their tribute to their hero.
Kid Rock has also given 30 performances at Pine Knob in his career.

Money’s personal life and death:

Eddie Money’s real name was Edward Joseph Mahoney. He was known for his husky voice and blue-collar persona. Money was a drug and alcohol addict. He was also a chain smoker. On 24th August 2019, Money, was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He died from complications from heart valve surgery in a Los Angeles hospital on 13th September. Even though Money is no longer with us, he will always be remembered, as a legend in his fan’s hearts.
