DnD nerds, prepare your dice!
The world’s most famous fantasy role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons has officially unveiled the trailer for its first movie. Titled Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the trailer was released as part of a San Diego Comic-Con panel which was attended by the cast and crew. We got a first look at their characters, as well as the trailer and official poster. Let’s talk about the trailer.
Dungeons & Dragons Trailer
The trailer for Dungeons & Dragons showed a group of adventurers/ thieves who have to team up to explore catacombs, find treasures, and fend off enemies. But doing a mission for the wrong person unleashed certain doom upon them. While trusting your partner can be deadly, with the evilest forces in the world after them, they have no choice. Together, they figure out each other’s strengths and weaknesses and decide to come out of this mess.
The movie gives us a look at the various skill sets that each character possesses, with some being able to do magic, some experienced in combat, while others are masters of hatching plans and laying out strategies. But the most exciting parts are of course, the traps and the monsters. There are dragons, shape-shifters, and even monsters that can disguise themselves to look like treasure chests.
Second Outing
Many may not know, but there was a Dungeons & Dragons movie that came out in 2000. However, it flopped hard, both in the eyes of fans and critics. Being a game with millions of fans around the world, it had to be crafted with care. Hollywood’s recent obsession with the 1980s and shows like Stranger Things is what paved the way for Honor Among Thieves to be made. The movie stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Regé-Jean Page.
Dungeons & Dragons will roll its way to theatres on March 3, 2023.
