The movie is headed to theatres this October
The official trailer for Black Adam is here! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson makes his debut as the infamous anti-hero who is best-known as an adversary of Shazam. We have had numerous images, short clips, and a teaser to show what’s to come, and the trailer finally blew our expectations. Read on to find out more.
Black Adam Trailer
The trailer opens with Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan) telling that Black Adam was given nothing but heartache from his immense powers. Then we hear Adam’s monologue, saying he was a slave until he died, but then gets reborn as a god. His son sacrificed himself to save his life, and now, he kneels to no one.
From there, we can see that he does not care about killing. This causes him to butt heads with Justice Society of America (JSA) who are also making their big screen debut. Aside from Brosnan as Dr. Fate, the team includes Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Hodge as Carter Hall/ Hawkman looks particularly amazing with the big, shiny wings.
Black Adam is written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani. It is directed by Jaume-Collet Serra, who previously worked with Johnson on Disney’s Jungle Cruise. However, this will be nothing like the Disney film, as the character operates in a very gray area. The movie will be a lot more violent, since DC doesn’t back down from such themes. We can also expect the movie to have ties to the upcoming Shazam: Fury of the Gods.
Release Date
