Wilson, who is promoting her latest movie Senior Year, spoke to People magazine and recounted the incident. She spoke about the shocking and offensive incident that took place between her and an unnamed male co-star. She said that the actor called her into a room before pulling down his pants. In another incident, he asked her to “perform a lewd act” while being surrounded by his friends. Wilson spoke about the incident being awful and disgusting, even the behavior afterwards. The person had tried to destroy her and her career, and if it had happened after #MeToo, she could’ve landed him in trouble.
Rebel Wilson also has a law degree from the University of New South Wales, and that became useful at this time. She said it helped her document the incident to other parties. She spoke to her rep and had many things written down. She also spoke about it to other people in the industry, and found out she was the fourth person to complain about this guy.
Why she chose to complete the movie
Rebel Wilson admitted that she even questioned herself on why she continued to work with that guy. She said that at the time, she wanted to be a professional and finish the movie. But if it were to happen now, she would report it immediately, and that the bravery of other women had given her courage.
