Daredevil Officially Renewed For Season 4 At Disney+

The series will be written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord

It’s finally happened. Daredevil, which once ruled over Netflix, has now been fully acquired by Disney+ and is about to start a new season. Now that the character is properly tied in with the other MCU storylines, we can expect changes in the storytelling, and maybe even a number of cameos. Read on to know the whole story.

Daredevil Story and Changes

Daredevil
Disney

Daredevil originally premiered in Netflix, and all three seasons received rave reviews from both fans and critics. However, the show was not majorly tied in with the MCU, and focused on street crime. Since Disney didn’t interfere in the production, the show was dark and gritty, and the amount of violence surpassed anything that the MCU has shown us. But fans loved it, as it closely followed the character’s comic book history. Charlie Cox starred as Daredevil and Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio starred as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal debuted in season 2 as Frank Castle/The Punisher.

But by 2018, all Netflix Marvel shows got cancelled, and so did Daredevil. It was a long wait for fans, until Cox returned as the blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Marvel chief Kevin Feige also confirmed that Cox will play the character.

Cox’s Plans

Cox has spoken about his return many times after returning for No Way Home. He said that the character will undergo a soft reboot, now that he is part of a larger universe. He also hopes that they adapt Frank Miller’s “Born Again.” In another piece of exciting news, both Cox and D’Onofrio is rumoured to return for Disney+’s Echo, a character with deep ties to them.

All that being said, it’s an exciting time to be a DD fan, and let’s hope Disney+ does him justice.
