Netflix has released the second season of hit series Bridgerton, and it was just as eventful as the first. This time, the eldest of the Bridgerton children, Anthony finds his partner. Bridgerton Season 2 Recap
The ton has new visitors. Kate (Simone Ashley) has come with her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) and their mother Mary for one season. Kate’s mission is to find her beloved little sister the perfect match. She even withholds the fact from Edwina that her maternal grandparents funded this trip so that she finds an English gentleman to marry.
One person who immediately turned Kate off was Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). Anthony was discussing with the boys the list of traits he wanted in his wife, which was everything except love. Queen Charlotte names Edwina the season’s diamond and this got Anthony’s attention. Despite Kate’s interruptions, he courted Edwina and even reached the marriage alter. However, in between all this, his chemistry with Kate heated up and Edwina realizes her fiancé and sister were attracted to each other. A huge scandal breaks out.
Van Dusen on the finale
Van Dusen says that Anthony and Kate are mirrors for each other. Their similaries cause them to butt heads at the beginning, but it’s also what brings them together. They both want to fulfill their duties to their family, and ignore their own hearts in the process. Season 2 was all about familial duty. He also adds that meeting each other causes them to grow immensely over the season. By the end, they also understand that they’re capable of loving and being loved.
