‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Dr. Cormac Hayes played by Richard Flood announced his exit after Episode 10
‘Shameless’ famed Richard Flood playing Dr. Cormac Hayes, paediatric surgeon of Grey Sloan has announced his departure from the long-time Medical drama series ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘. He is leaving the set after 3 years of journey in the drama. In addition, he debuted in the Season 16 as the co-star opposite to Ellen Pompeo who plays Meredith Grey. However, he set leave in the episode 10 of Season 18.
Reasons behind the departure
Following the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ storyline, Richard Flood’s Dr. Cormac Hayes leave the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital after Dr. Owen Hunt’s car accident. Just before the car fell down from the cliff Dr. Cormac Hayes promised Dr. Owen Hunt to help others through his Owen’s drugs like Owen helped the terminally ill veteran. Therefore, when he sees him in critical stage after narrow escape, he made up his mind to fulfil Owen’s promise. Accordingly, he goes on a mission to find out more medicines.
However, he always finds himself trapped between the promise and his perception. According to him, everyone should live the whole life provided to them may it be in pain. He rejected the whole idea of physician-assisted suicide. Hence, he falls in the dilemma to fulfill Owen’s promise. In the end, he decides to speak about the stolen drugs to Chief of Surgery, Dr. Miranda Bailey and confess Owen’s mistake. Yet, to the surprise, the table turns when he resigned rather than speaking out the secret.
Flood’s exit left fans heartbroken
The fan-favourite series has recently witnessed the exit of many renowned actors like ‘Friends With Money’ alum Greg Germann known as Dr. Thomas Koracick; ‘Luca’ famed Giacomo Gianniotti portrayed Andrew DeLuca, attending General Surgeon; Jesse Williams, who was everyone’s favourite Jackson Avery and many more. Fans of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ are really heartbroken after the decision.
It’s a worldwide famous drama running since 2005. People were expecting to see more episodes of the blooming love between Dr. Cormac Hayes and Meredith. Finally, the love story was progressing after the delay due to pandemic. However, the sudden departure of Flood after 3 seasons left audience disappointed.
