The viral pointing meme received its live-action as well
Marvel and Sony has released a special trailer for the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s DVD. Tom Holland’s first trilogy as the beloved webslinger has come to an end. We got to see Holland reuniting with former Spideys Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The previous Spider-Man movies never got their proper ending. Maguire and Garfield bid farewell to the role after poor reviews and box office numbers. But the multiverse opened doors (literally) for their return to the MCU, and maybe solo outings in the future.
The pointing meme
To celebrate the announcement, Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield recreated the iconic Spider-Man pointing meme. It’s truly a great time to be alive as we never expected to see this in person. The meme originally came from the 1967 animated Spider-Man show. In the episode, an actor-turned-criminal impersonates the webslinger until Spider-Man himself confronts him. It is hilariously made in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s post-credit scene. In that, Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac) messing up and entering the wrong universe.
Garfield revealed in an interview that he suggested that they do it while filming a scene between the three Peters. It happens when Ned (Jacob Batalon) calls Peter and all three respond, and point at each other. Next, we see it in the final battle as they devise a battle strategy.
Digital announcement
The movie’s official Twitter handle announced its digital release. Spider-Man: No Way Home will be coming to Blu-ray on April 12 and 4K UHD on March 22. The promotional video informed that there will be 80 minutes of bonus content, and 20 minutes featuring Peter 2 and Peter 3.
