Kit Harington who played the popular character of Jon Snow on the HBO series Game of Thrones has shut down a fan theory that claimed Jon Snow had encouraged Arya Stark to kill the Night King in the series epic final. He called the assumption as “crap.”
The actor commented that he was proud of Arya’s surprise moment, despite having hard feelings. Harington shared, “I was a bit pissed off, only because I wanted to kill the Night King! However, I was so happy for Maisie and Arya.” He elaborated, that while it was sad that his character could not defeat the icy villain, but he had no part in Arya’s decision. Kit Harington further said, “Yeah, come on. What, the big man goes and tells the little girl to go and [do it]? No thanks. That is crap. She did it all on her own. It had nothing to do with Jon.”
Harington also shared how he was proud of actress Maisie Williams’ surprise moment. He liked the way Maisie’s journey was shown in the series. “Over the seasons, we have seen her build up these skills to become this hardened assassin, and she uses it all to kill our main antagonist.”
Finally, Kit Harington also shared how he loved to see how his character Jon Snow is shown in the final scene waking North with the Free Folk. He shared how he loved the ending when he read the script and that it moved him to tears. To finally see his character who has grown over the years, and mean a lot to him personally, be able to go beyond the Wall back to something authentic, honest and pure, with the people he belonged to, with Free Folk, made Jon Snow finally free.
