The breakout holiday hit is almost here
Marvel Studios is cutting it close to the chest with Spider-Man: No Way Home. Recent reports say that the movie is still not done with editing and is in a race against time to be done before it premieres. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is about to meet the biggest match in his career, with villains from other universes such as Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Electro and Lizard show up. The movie will hit theatres in the US on December 17, while it arrives a day earlier on many other countries.
The delay
As per Steven Weintraub, the editor-in-chief at Collider, Spider-Man: No Way Home is not ready for release. He continued that VFX shots for the movie is not ready until early next week, just before the movie’s world premiere. However, Weintraub has added that such is the case for most big movies.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is also doing things differently for critics and press junket interviewers. Usually, they are given special screenings so that they can form questions and reviews accordingly. However, they are now shown only 40 minutes of the movie. Hype for the movie is already through the roof, the biggest since Avengers: Endgame.
The movie’s runtime
Spider-Man: No Way Home has a runtime of 150 minutes, or 2 hours, 30 minutes, making it the third longest MCU movie. The first place is held by Avengers: Endgame at 181 minutes, while The Eternals holds second spot with 157 minutes. The movie can be described as the next Captain America: Civil War, except villains will be showing up. However, fans still strongly believe that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return as Spider-Man.
Many trailer breakdowns have also proven that Tom’s Spidey is going to have backup. Netflix Daredevil‘s Charlie Cox is also rumoured to return, and so is Tom Hardy’s Venom.
