Has the Knight really fallen?
We are a little more than a week away from DC FanDome, where the next slew of DC projects are shared. Unveiled at the first fan event in October 2020, WB Games Montreal’s Gotham Knights is a highly anticipated project. After the end of the Arkham franchise in 2015, players badly wanted a Batman game with free roam and combat and a good story.
WB Games will have their own panel this time as well, but before that, they released a new image on their official Twitter. Check it out:

An ending similar to Arkham Knight
The game’s first trailer begins with Bruce’s video message where he announces his death. His sudden death is what prompts his partners Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood to fully embrace their roles as Gotham’s new protectors. Their biggest challenge will be to uncover the mysterious Court of Owls.
Coming back to Bruce’s death, the newspaper that published the article calls it a “freak accident.” Batman is someone who has faked his death numerous times in his history. Even Rocksteady’s Arkham Knight ended with him and Alfred “dying” after the world finds out his identity. He chose to fake his death by rigging Wayne Manor with explosives, and called it the Knightfall Protocol.
WB Montreal’s past works
The studio had previously made the Wii-U exclusive, Batman: Arkham City – Armoured Edition, and 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins. We are not fully sure if these games are set in the same universe, but it will be interesting to find out.Gotham Knights was scheduled to come out in late 2021, but is now set for an undisclosed 2022 date. It will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
