Tory Lanez was convicted in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion

After executing fellow rap artist Megan Thee Stallion, rapper Tory Lanez was found guilty of all charges on Friday in a hearing in Los Angeles. Daystar Peterson, also known as Tory Lanez, could be deported back to Canada after serving a maximum penalty of even more than 22 years behind bars.

Tory Lanez, 30, was found guilty by a jury of negligent discharge of a handgun, assault with a semiautomatic weapon, and possession of a full, illegal weapon in a moving car.

Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, told CBS News in a release that the court rendered the appropriate verdict and that he was happy that Megan had received fairness.

After quite a gathering in the Hollywood Hills, Megan Pete, otherwise known as Megan Thee Stallion, alleged that Tory Lanez repeatedly pointed his gun at her feet. She testified in court that Lanez and Megan had such a heated argument before the event that intensified when they began criticizing one another’s musical skills.

He proceeded to scream and shout, and Megan Thee Stallion said throughout her statement that she thought something must have brushed him in the wrong direction. When she attempted to flee after getting out of the car, Lanez allegedly leaned out and started shooting, wounding the backs of her feet. She said that she eventually climbed back into the vehicle, which was soon stopped.

She said that the bullet fragments in her foot required surgery to be removed.

As the verdict was announced, Tory Lanez exhibited no response. He was kept in detention and will be punished on January 27.

Tory Lanez Attorney dismisses allegations

Megan Thee Stallion displayed great courage and delicacy with her statement despite frequent and brutal insults that she didn’t deserve, said District Attorney George Gascón in a statement issued shortly after the decision was announced.

Gascón claimed that due to their being frequently disbelieved, women, particularly black women, are scared to disclose offenses like assault and sexual abuse.

The verdict was unfortunate, according to George Mgdesyan, an attorney for Lanez, in a phone interview with CBS News. He also said that Lanez’s legal staff would consider all potential alternatives, including pursuing an appeal.

Despite being shot, Megan agreed to go back in the car alongside Lanez, his bodyguard, and a third guy considering that she was wearing a thong bikini and thought her manager would know what to do next according to statements she gave in the trial.

She also claimed during her testimony that Tory Lanez had given her a $1 million bribe to stay silent about the assault because he was on suspension, but his attorney refuted her claims.
