“The untold stories of 9/11!”: Celebrities who survived 9/11 attacks by their sheer luck.

It has been 18 years since the tragic 9/11 terror attacks and the trauma of the day is still tangible today for many, including celebrities who almost died in the attack but by a twist of fate were saved. Stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Ferguson and Michael Jackson were among the lucky few who survived the terrorist attack. In one of the most significant terror attacks of our days, 2,997 people were killed when 19 men hijacked four planes and flew two planes into the Twin Towers, one into the Pentagon and another crashed in Pennsylvania. Over the past 18 years, many survivor stories have come forth from people missing the plane, missing train, late at work to even hangovers.

Michael Jackson was one of the lucky celebrities who survived the attacks, thanks to his mother. The iconic singer had a meeting at one of the sky-scrapers but overslept the day as he had stayed up late talking with his mother, Katherine and sister Rebbie.

Another star who survived 9/11 is Mark Wahlberg who was supposed to be on the plane American Airlines Flight 11 to Los Angeles. However, he and his friend had a last-minute change of heart and was saved. He was criticized later when he shared that he would have overpowered the terrorists if he had been on that flight. He later apologized to the families of the victims whom his comments offended.

Seth MacFarlane was supposed to be on the same flight but was late due to a hangover and missed the flight. His travel agent told him the wrong time, and he survived due to that mistake.

While Gwyneth Paltrow was not on the flight list, she saved a life of a young fan, Lara Lundstrom Clarke who while jaywalking in front of Paltrow’s car was starstruck and was delayed to catch her train to the World Trade Centre. She witnessed the plane crash as she got off the train and survived.

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was supposed to be on the 101st floor for her meeting with charity company Chances for Children, but due to her lengthy interview with Matt Lauer, she was saved.

Rob Lowe surprisingly was on the dummy run flight for the attacks 11 days before the tragic events.

He later realized that he had flown with the terrorists and gave evidence against the attacker Zacarias Moussaoui.
