Michael Jackson was one of the lucky celebrities who survived the attacks, thanks to his mother. The iconic singer had a meeting at one of the sky-scrapers but overslept the day as he had stayed up late talking with his mother, Katherine and sister Rebbie.

Mark Wahlberg.

Another star who survived 9/11 is Mark Wahlberg who was supposed to be on the plane American Airlines Flight 11 to Los Angeles. However, he and his friend had a last-minute change of heart and was saved. He was criticized later when he shared that he would have overpowered the terrorists if he had been on that flight. He later apologized to the families of the victims whom his comments offended.

Seth MacFarlane.

Seth MacFarlane was supposed to be on the same flight but was late due to a hangover and missed the flight. His travel agent told him the wrong time, and he survived due to that mistake.

Gwyneth Paltrow.

While Gwyneth Paltrow was not on the flight list, she saved a life of a young fan, Lara Lundstrom Clarke who while jaywalking in front of Paltrow’s car was starstruck and was delayed to catch her train to the World Trade Centre. She witnessed the plane crash as she got off the train and survived.

Sarah Ferguson.

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was supposed to be on the 101st floor for her meeting with charity company Chances for Children, but due to her lengthy interview with Matt Lauer, she was saved.

Rob Lowe surprisingly was on the dummy run flight for the attacks 11 days before the tragic events.
