South Park Announces New Movie for Paramount+, Release Date Revealed

The special, titled “South Park: Post Covid” will air on November 25th

Hit animated sitcom South Park is currently at its 24th season, but due to the pandemic, it’s being released with long gaps. However, we are getting a movie from the makers. The movie will release on November and stream exclusively on Paramount+. This will be the second South Park content we are getting this year, after the South ParQ Vaccination Special in March. Last September’s The Pandemic Special was the highest-rated episode from the show in several years. South Park is also the longest-running scripted series of cable television, and will celebrate its 25th anniversary in August 2022.

The new movie is part of an extensive deal between Paramount and MTV Entertainment Studios (both owned by ViacomCBS), along with show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The deal lasts till 2027, until the 30th season.  Titled South Park: Post Covid, the movie will air on Paramount+ on Thursday, November 25th. Aside from the USA, it will also be available in the Nordics, Latine America, Australia, and Canada. For now, we don’t know about the plot, but we can assume it deals with the changed world after the pandemic. Maybe the story takes place after COVID vanished entirely. Nonetheless, we are still excited for the return of Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and Cartman.
