Sarah Jessica Parker doesn’t want Kim Cattrall joining And Just Like That…
It seems we will never get to experience Samantha Jones and Carrie Bradshaw together ever again.
“There’s too much public history”- said Sarah Jessica Parker
In an interview with Variety, the Hocus Pocus star received a question reagarding if she was ok with her former co-star Kim Cattrall making a comeback to the Sex and the City franchise. To this question, Parker replied with a subtle “No”, adding that there is too much public history of feelings. She said this in reference to what Cattrall shared in public.
The 56 year old actress further commented that she hasn’t read or participated in any articles, but she got to know from people.
On the other hand, the 65-year-old How I Met Your Father actress had revealed long ago that she was not interested in returning to the Sex and the City franchise. She cited tension with her co stars as the reason behind the decision.
However, Parker has always denied any hints regarding a clash between the two.
Parker gets candid as she talks about Sex and the City reboot storyline
In the pilot episode of the HBO Max series, we get to know that Cattrall’s character Samantha has moved to London for work.
Even though the Filthy Rich actress was not physically present in the 10-episode series, we see her character throughout the storyline.
Speaking about Kim’s absence, Parker commented that what was important for Cattrall was not compatible with the requirements of the show.
She further added that Samantha is still present and her character was handled with enough elegance.
A revival of Sex and the City, And Just Like That… premiered on HBO Max on 9 December, 2021.
