Maximum Effort making ads at maximum speed once more
Marketing genius Ryan Reynolds strikes again!
The Deadpool actor and owner of Mint Mobile has made a new commercial which stars Canadian comedian Dave Foley. See how it all happened below.
At first there was a tweet
It started with the Kids in the Hall alum tweeting if he can appear in a new ad if he made Mint his new cell network provider. Reynolds responded “offer accepted” within an hour, at 3:34 PM ET. He then shared a photo at 8:35 PM ET of Foley on set of the latest ad. He captioned it, “New @MaximumEffort land speed record.”
This was not the first time that Reynolds had done something so surprising, yet amazing. Reynolds brought major changes and made Mint a bigger name ever since he purchased his ownership stake in 2019. He arrived the same genius ideas that he brings out for every ad of Aviation Gin or Hugh Jackman’s Laughing Man Coffee. His production company Maximum Effort had put out ads that starred Rick Moranis, a descendent of Paul Revere, Gary Busey, and a hilarious ad of Satan dating the year 2020.
Hit Aviation Gin ads
Before Mint, Reynolds showed off his entrepreneurial skills with Aviation Gin. He proved that not only is he incredibly funny and creative, but a kind person who believed in second chances. After Peloton put out a an ad that somehow got the internet spewing their hate, Reynolds hired the actress for an ad for Aviation Gin. The he hired And Just Like That actor Chris Noth after his character died after a Peloton-induced heart attack. However, the ad was taken down after the actor was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
Reynolds said that they really think over this stuff, and not just make ads in a hurry. But he admitted that they work through empathy, and that lets them make meaningful ads.
