THE PLOT
Shot in Budapest, Hanna is the story about a teenage lass who has been raised by Eric, the only male figure in her life. She has lived all her life in the woods of Poland. Eric, back in his days, recruited expectant mothers into CIA program (UTRAX). That’s when he fell in love with Johanna, Hanna’s mum. Eric rescues baby Hanna. He raises her, gives her all sorts of training that she’d ever need, he turns her into an impeccable killer, toughens her up. He inspires her “to be the girl no one saw coming”.
In Season 1 we see Hanna running from the Morrocan CIA guys and finds a friend in Sophie amidst this chaos. Being with Sophie makes her understand what normalcy feels like. However, the feeling doesn’t last for too long. Soon she joins Eric in Berlin. The poor little girl grows exasperated seeking for that normalcy again. And the drama goes on.
This 2019 America Action Drama is written by David Farr and Ingeborg Topse; Directed by John Wright. Hanna is an Amazon Prime Original that aired its first episode back in February 2019 just for 24 hours (publicity gimmick, perhaps). The entire Season 1 was released later in March 2019.
THE CAST
The main cast includes Esme Creed-Miles as Hanna, Joel Kinnaman as Erik Heller, Joanna Kulig as Johanna playing Hanna’s mother, Rhianne Barreto as Sophie playing Hanna’s best pal. Mireille Enos as Marissa Wiegler and Noah Taylor as Dr Roland Kunek.
IS SEASON 2 ON ITS WAY?
The wild child is gonna be back for a Season 2, yes! The cast is expected to be reprised. Nothing has been spilt about the Season 2 plot as of yet. The Season is ready for a 2020 premier so, rejoice! Although, the trailer remains pending.
