Nicki Minaj goes against Grammys for shifting her from Rap to Pop
The Grammys are always one of the most anticipated events of the year, and this year was no different. Unfortunately, some of the performances that were nominated for awards were not up to par. Nicki Minaj’s recent hit “Super Freaky Girl” was taken into the Pop category even though it is a solo rap.
Twitter and Instagram are on the buzz with people reposting and replying to Nicki’s post reacting to their views on this very matter. Even though it seems unfair as per Grammys action, her latest hit is still in the Top 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs for 8 weeks now.
Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter account on Sunday night to call out the Grammys for their lack of diversity. She clearly intended in her tweet that she has no problem if all were being treated fairly.
I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY. If SFG has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy! ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll. I’d actually LUV 2 c a more street record win- male OR female! IJS rightIsRight 🫡

Furthermore, Nicki even questioned who are the people who decide nominations, who runs the Grammy, and what goes on in the background of it.
Real Reason?
Minaj is not the only one with this sentiment. Earlier this year, Solange Knowles also the sister of Beyoncé, called out the Grammys for their lack of diversity.
Many people were not happy with this change and found it to be a major disappointment. They argued that Nicki Minaj’s rap skills are best showcased in a rap style and that the pop style simply did not fit the song. Others thought that the change was simply done to make the song more commercially appealing and that the Grammys were not really trying to recognize Nicki Minaj’s skills as a rapper.
Well, all said and done yet Grammy officially hasn’t responded to any of the allegations against it about racism or discrimination.
