The Queen of Christmas and her announcement
She posted the news on Instagram, deferring to the traditional parade closer Santa Claus, who now becomes the equivalent of the guy who plays banjo at the country fair. The usual helium balloons, celebrities lip-synching to their hits and marching bands will also be at the parade. The Macy’s parade will be on television and will be broadcasted by NBC.
The singer, Mariah Carey announced her appearance on 96th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade through Instagram, writing her childhood dream will be coming to life soon as she was going to be opening for one and only Santa Claus.
Earlier, Carey has denied the trademark rights to Queen of Christmas as well as Princess Christmas by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark would have given her the legal rights to stop others from using the title Queen of Christmas on music, shampoo bottles, perfumes, and other products.
Holiday themed concerts
Carey’s holiday domination will continue into December as the artist will appear for a pair of holiday-themed concerts at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and New York’s Madison Square Garden. CBS will showcase the two-hour prime-time concert on Tuesday, a special Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to All on December 20.
The show will be filmed during Carey’s first of two nights at Madison Square Garden on 13th December and will be aired from 8 pm to 10pm. The show will also be available to viewers to stream and will appear via Paramount+.
