YouTube star Grant Thompson, popularly known as The King of Random, passed away on Monday. This comes as a great shock for the fans and the YouTube community.

The YouTube star, aged 38, died in a paragliding accident. As per reports from TMZ, Thompson’s body was recovered early on Tuesday morning in St George, Utah. His family filed a missing person’s report when he did not return home on Monday evening.He was last seen leaving the Dixie Springs subdivision.
Thompson was wearing a GPS tracking device and hence the authorities were able to track his last known coordinates at around 9:00 p.m.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue teams and a Life Flight helicopter were able to track down Thompson using updated coordinates gathered from his cellphone’s GPS just after midnight Tuesday. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Thompson had created his channel in January 2010. He had more than 11 million subscribers. His posts were usually experimental videos about quirky projects.
Besides his YouTube channel, he was an airline pilot and was also into real estate business. He worked in the transportation industry and even got a job in Hawaii flying cargo. He had great likeness for skydiving, flying and other airborne activities. Thompson is survived by his wife and four children.
